1.  What is Betaout’s Email Marketing module?

Email Marketing is the art and science of using email to both engage with your customers and nurture prospects. Email Marketing is one of the modules available in Betaout, which facilitates the use of using email as a marketing channel.

 

2. What are the types of Email Marketing campaigns I can send using Betaout?

Using Betaout, you can send Broadcast Campaign, Recurring Campaign, Event-triggered Campaign and One-to-one Campaign.

3. When should I be sending a Broadcast Campaign?

Broadcast Email is a single message that you can send to your entire customer base, or a group of users, at the same time. It can be scheduled to go out on a specific date and time, but the schedule is the same for everyone. A Broadcast Campaign is generally the most ideal option when you need to engage a number of users with the same message at once (e.g., a monthly email newsletter).


4. When should I be using Event-triggered Campaign for my store?

An Event-triggered Email is a message that is sent to a customer based on an event performed or action taken on your website. According to studies, Triggered Emails have a click through rate 152% higher than traditional emails. The primary purpose of an event triggered email is to convey information regarding the action that triggered it and is a great tactic to provide the customers with a better user experience.


5.When should I be using a Recurring Campaign for my store?

Recurring Emails are emails that are sent automatically on a periodic basis. Recurring sending allows you to create and automatically send email campaigns scheduled daily, weekly or monthly at a definite time as set by you. Betaout allows you to set-up, send, and analyze scheduled email reminders.


6.When should I send a One-to-one Campaign?

A One-to-one Email is simply a message that you can send to a single customer. Betaout allows you to send fully trackable one-to-one emails to your customers with ease. This is usually sent when anything particular is to be communicated to a specific customer.


7. What all metrics can I track for my Email Marketing campaigns?

You can track the following metrics for your Email Marketing campaigns: Delivered, Opened, Clicked, Bounced, Unsubscribed, Conversion, and Revenue.

 

8. How can I download reports for my Email Marketing campaigns?

You can export all your Email Marketing related reports by clicking on the export data icon near Create Campaign button on the Campaigns page under Email Marketing module.

 

9. What is a Suppression List?

Suppression List is a list of email addresses that would be excluded from all SMS Marketing campaigns you send using Betaout. It includes email IDs of people who have chosen to unsubscribe from your email list, marked your email as spam or if email sent to them got bounced.

 

10. What is meant by ‘Unsubscribers’?

Unsubscribers refers to people who have manually chosen to unsubscribe from your mailing list.

 

11. What are bounced emails?

Bounce email (sometimes referred to as bounce mail) is an email that is returned to the sender because it could not be delivered for some reason.


12. What is the difference between Hard Bounce and Soft Bounce?

Hard Bounce email is permanently bounced back to the sender because the address is invalid.

Soft Bounce email is recognized by the recipient’s mail server but is returned to the sender because the recipient’s mailbox is full, the mail server is temporarily unavailable, or the recipient no longer has an e-mail account at that address.


13. What is CAN-SPAM?

CAN-SPAM is short for the CAN-SPAM Act of 2003, which is a law that was signed into effect to set rules for commercial electronic messages and provide recipients with the right to request that messages stop getting sent to them.

 

14. How can I personalize my Emails? What dynamic user properties can I use?

Yes, you can send out personalized mailers to all those users whose first name/full name are available in the system, and not based on other properties. For all others whose first name/full name is not available, we use a property called ‘Fallback’.

To personalize, you can put the user property that is to be fetched dynamically within curly brackets like this example below, in the subject line or HTML of the mailer.

Ex: Hey {{firstname}}, how are you doing?

We recommend always using a ‘fallback’. For eg:

Hey {{firstname, dear}}, how are you doing?

 

15.What is meant by Fallback?

As the name suggests, a Fallback is a word that appears in place of the custom property if the custom property for that user isn’t available for your account in the Betaout system. When a user is creating a campaign and is entering a custom property as ‘{{ firstname }}’, in certain cases this property isn’t available for a certain segment of that campaign. For solving such a case, a fallback is introduced which will be as ‘{{ firstname, friend }}’ where ‘friend’ will be the fallback, if “firstname” couldn’t be found.

 

16. How can I add more verified senders for my email campaigns?

You can authorize more people to send email campaigns using Betaout by following these steps:

Betaout > Settings > Email Marketing > Add/Remove Verified Senders

 

17. What are the Email Servers available for Email Gateway Integration in Betaout?

The email servers available for Email Gateway Integration in Betaout are: Amazon SES, SMTP Servers, Mailchimp, Mandrill Mail Service, Sendgrid Mail Service.

 

18. How do I ensure that a customer is not sent more than one message in a given time?

To ensure that a customer is not sent more than one Email in a given time selected by you. Do the following:

  1. Go to Betaout > Settings > Email Marketing > Time Interval Between Emails
  2. Enter the time as desired and click on Save.

 

19. Can I manually add email addresses while setting up an Email Marketing Campaign? How?

Yes, you can manually add email addresses while setting up an Email Marketing campaign from the Target page. You can manually add up to 100 email addresses in a single campaign.

 

20. Can I schedule my Email Campaigns? How?

Yes, you can schedule your email campaigns as desired from the Send page while setting up any Email Marketing campaign.

21. What are the different types of Templates available in Betaout Campaign Builder?

Following are the different types of templates available in Betaout Campaign Builder:

BASIC: Basic templates which are fully customizable with advanced options.

THEME: Rich theme-based templates incorporated into best practices for varied business use-cases, tested across the industry.

SAVED: Email templates automatically saved from your previously created campaigns.

 

22. What is meant by ‘Elements’?

Elements refer to a wide range of dynamic, functional elements like media, vectors, text and more that Betaout Campaign Builder allows you to include to create an email.

 

23. What are the types of Elements that I can include while designing my emails?

You can include the following elements while designing your emails using the Betaout Campaign Builder:

GRID: This is an essential functionality which allows you to add a customizable grid of NxM blocks to your email in a single-click drag-and-drop. You can insert the desired elements of the Campaign Builder in the various blocks of a grid.

MEDIA: Growing media library from where you can choose different media files like images, gif, videos etc. to add to your email.

BUTTON: Option to include different types of call-to-action buttons to your email, making your email more convertible.

ICONS: Allows you to include a number of Icons, Shapes, and Illustrations to

your email.

TEXT: You can choose to add text in the form of Headline, Typography and/or Paragraph to your email.

COMBOS: Combos are ready-to-use grids made out of combinations of different Campaign Builder elements. These combos empower you with pre-designed layouts having varied elements to provide better structure to the template and are best used in 1×1 grids.

 

24. Are emails designed in Betaout Campaign Builder device-responsive?

Yes, emails designed using Betaout Campaign Builder are universally device-responsive.

 

25. How can I preview my email for mobile devices?

You can preview your email for mobile devices by clicking on the Mobile View icon.

26. How can I choose my own image(s) to be included in an email campaign?

To include your own image to be included in an email campaign, follow these steps:

  1. Click on the image block where you want to include your own image.
  2. In the Edit Bar that appears on the top, click on Replace.
  3. Click on Choose File to upload your image and then click on Upload.

 

27. What is a ‘Pre-header’?

A preheader is the short summary text that follows the subject line when an email is viewed in the inbox.

 

28. What is the ideal pre-header character limit?

The ideal pre-header character limit is 25 characters.

 

29.Can I include gif in my emails? How?

Yes, you can include gif in your emails. Follow these steps to include gif in your email:

  1. Click on an image file in your email template.
  2. Select GIF icon from the Edit Bar.
  3. Click on Add Multiple Images.
  4. Configure the speed and background setting and click Save And Close.

 

30.How can I include unique promocodes in my email campaign?

You can include unique promocode in your email campaigns by choosing to use a coupon list uploaded by you. This can be done while you’re designing the campaign in Betaout Campaign Builder. Simply click on the coupon code icon after selecting any text-based element, and unique coupon codes will be automatically fetched as per the sequence.

 

31. How can we use user property is email marketing template?

We can use user property in either of the subject line or in the content of the mail.

This can be used as {{email}}

 

32.Suppose a user might don’t have property of country, then how do we display country for them in mailers?

We can use user property as {{country,India}}

For users who have country property value of that will display in email campaigns and for user who don’t have this property,mail will be received by them with content having India.

 

33.Can we send event trigger, recurring, one to one, cart recovery mailers using Mailchimp ?

No, For broadcast only mailchimp can be used.

When it gets reach to the threshold of  0.1 % spam and 0.4% bounce

This happens because campaign are scheduled at same time and email last sent date property is not updated for users.

 

39. Email id exist in a system multiple times, we want to send mail one time on same email, How do we send?

Use functionality of remove duplicate email id’s while sending a campaign.
