Broadcast Campaign is a single text message that you can send to your entire customer base, or a group of users, at the same time. A broadcast is generally the most ideal option when you need to engage your entire contact list with the same message at once.

For a URL to auto act like a URL in any SMS, either “http://” or “.com” is required or else on clicking also it will not let you open the url. For Betaout to track activity on your campaigns, it requires space for 8 characters.

You can either take a subdomain for your store such as “c.xyz.com” (whose cname settings will be pointed towards Betaout) + 8 characters for Betaout tracking i.e. total 22 characters.

Other option is, for you to use “http://” + a small domain you may get and point its cname settings to Betaout such as (xkart.com) + 8 characters for Betaout tracking i.e. total 24 characters.

Yes, you can send out personalized SMS Marketing messages to all those users whose first name/full name are available in the system. For all others whose first name/full name is not available, we use a property called ‘Fallback’.

To personalize, you can put the user property that is to be fetched dynamically within curly brackets like this example below, in the body of the message.

Ex: Hey {{firstname}}, how are you doing?

We recommend always using a ‘fallback’ for eg:

Hey {{firstname, dear}}, how are you doing?

19. What is a Fallback?

As the name suggests, a Fallback is the word that appears in place of the custom property if the custom property for that user isn’t available for your account in the Betaout system. When a user is creating a campaign and is entering a custom property as ‘{{ firstname }}’, in certain cases this property isn’t available for certain segment of that campaign. For solving such a case, a fallback is introduced which will be as ‘{{ firstname, dear }}’ where ‘dear’ will be the fallback, if “firstname” couldn’t be found.
